The Section of Agricultural Botany at Sharad College of Agriculture was established in August, 2013. The Section of Agricultural Botany is one of the principle branch of agricultural sciences, which deals with the principles and practices of crop improvement. The Agricultural Botany section in the college is basically includes different disciplines viz., Genetics and Plant Breeding, Crop Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Seed Technology, Environmental Sciences. The Section of Agricultural Botany deals with the work of teaching to the students.
Goals:
To impart the technical knowledge regarding modern agriculture to students as well as local farmers.
Mandates:
- To offer eight courses of Agricultural Botany for the undergraduate degree programme.
- Conventions of Farmers meet, seminars, symposia and exhibitions for exchange of Scientific Information.
